A Large Development to Anchor a Redeveloped Shopping Centre
The transformation of a former pedestrian mall to a big box store retailer.
Scope of work for this large-scale, 150,000 square-foot project – which features an accompanying gas station – included the demolishing of the indoor shopping mall, which had been vacant since 2017, most of which being converted for Costco parking space.
A Zero Injury Project
Recognized for having one of the most robust and comprehensive OHS policies across North America, we met our commitment to a zero-incident standard throughout the full scope of the project, which included significant ground improvement to stabilize the sub-soils, followed by full site development.
A Full-Service, Full-Capacity Retail Warehouse
Offering more than 4,000 items, this new Costco location features a large variety of departments, which includes an on-site bakery, fresh meat, produce, and rotisserie chicken section, in addition to an optical centre, hearing aid centre, photo centre, food court, five-bay tire centre, 24-pump gas station, propane station, and full-service pharmacy.
Retail Support for a Rapidly Growing Community
The development of Costco will bring a significant boost to the growing city of Niagara Falls, which already has plans for a new hospital, the launch of GO Transit commuter rail service, a new subdivision, and other large-scale developments and infrastructure projects within the city.
