Sr. Project Coordinator

Peak is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Project Coordinator to support the delivery of construction projects throughout Ontario. This is a traveling position working on a 10 days on / 4 days off rotation.
Role: Working alongside the Project Manager and Superintendent, the Sr. Project Coordinator plays a key role in the day-to-day coordination and administration of projects. This position carries a higher level of ownership and independence, with responsibility for project documentation, changes, cost tracking, schedule coordination, trade and consultant communication, and project closeout.
Who You Are: You are an experienced construction professional who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of project responsibilities. You can identify issues early, communicate effectively with project teams, trades and consultants, and follow matters through to resolution in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, drawing revisions, site instructions and other project documentation.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to resolve outstanding information and keep work progressing.
- Manage the change process, including identifying potential changes, preparing and tracking change notices and maintaining supporting documentation.
- Assist with pricing, review and administration of change orders.
- Support project cost control, budget updates and forecasting.
- Review subcontractor progress claims and invoices against contracts, completed work and approved changes.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of project schedules and monitor key milestones and deliverables.
- Review drawings, specifications and contract documents to identify discrepancies, scope gaps and coordination issues.
- Maintain current drawings, specifications, logs, meeting records and project correspondence.
- Support quality control, deficiency tracking and project closeout documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to Project Coordinators and other junior project team members as required.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- 4+ years of progressive construction experience, including experience in a Project Coordinator or similar role.
- Diploma, degree or certificate in Construction Management, Building Technology, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and relevant construction experience will also be considered.
- Experience supporting commercial, retail, institutional or other ICI construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, drawings, specifications and contract documents.
- Demonstrated experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, cost tracking, progress claims and document control.
- Experience working directly with subcontractors, consultants, Project Managers and Superintendents.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Able to manage project responsibilities independently and follow issues through to completion.
- Strong understanding of how changes in scope, schedule and site conditions can impact project cost and delivery.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and document control.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams and SharePoint.
- Experience with construction project management, scheduling and document management software is considered an asset.
- Willing and able to travel throughout Ontario on a 10 days on / 4 days off rotation.
